Strategies for managing devices on campus and in the classroom:
Along with the BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) Policies that are in place for Frederick County the following will also be rules at Windsor Knolls Middle School:
Students should only be on their devices when directed so by a teacher.
Students should not be on their devices in the hallways, at lunch, at recess or in the locker rooms during PE (all device must be powered down before entering the locker rooms for student safety).
When devices are not in use in the classroom they should be laying face down on top of the student's desk.
Students must have the BYOD permission slip signed in order for them to use their device on school grounds during school hours.
When on the internet or any apps using the internet students must be on the school's secure Wi-Fi network. In no circumstances are students allowed to be on their own cellular network during school.
